Description ~ Double Knitting 101

Curious about double knitting but not quite sure how it works? In this workshop we’ll learn the magic of knitting two sides of your work at once with no visible wrong side. We’ll also cover ways to keep your edges tidy, casting on with two colors, how to read double knitting charts, increasing and decreasing techniques, and work up a swatch to get you ready to knit any double knitting project you wish!

Materials Needed ~ Double Knitting 101

• 2 Highly contrasting shades of Worsted weight yarn (no novelty, fuzzy, or thick and thin fibers), 100 yds each color
• Size US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular knitting needles
• Stitch Markers
• Sticky Notes
• Tapestry Needle
• Copy of pattern will be supplied in class
